![]() Yule/ Winter Solstice December 21, 2016 Yule/Winter solstice is the longest night of the year . Ar Yule we beiong a new Solar year. We celebrate the birth if the Sun God. It might be the longest night of the year but we are at a transitioning point where the transition of the season of light is near. During this time of the year we begin to decorate our homes for Yule/Winter Solistice and we use items to symbolize light and life. For example, ornaments shaped like fruits, starts, suns and nuts represent fertility and the bounty of the coming harvest. Pine, the most ancient Yule decoration is a sign of life everlasting, the pine in a shape of a wreath is a symbol of eternity and adding lights to the pine represent divinity. The color red in the form of candles, bows, red ribbons through a pine garland represent the life force.
