I am passionately alive and courageously reclaiming joy The most radical act we can choose in this (or any) moment is to feel gratitude. Gratitude for all that is--exactly as it is--without needing it to be different.
Gratitude is not a band-aid, used to spiritually bypass your true pain that is arising to teach you something valuable for your development. It is not a tool to avoid feeling. Gratitude for the struggle illuminates the wisdom within the struggle...if you are brave enough to breathe deep into what is authentically happening within you. Are you someone who uses affirmations and gratitude to avoid feeling? Be honest. Or maybe you lean to the other side of the spectrum, allowing yourself to complain constantly and give in to feeling weighed down and disappointed by your life. If this is you, dear sister… Take back your power and choose to open your heart wide open, feel all there is, and give thanks. True gratitude reminds us of the subtle perfection that exists in each and every single moment when we choose to relax enough to recognize it. Gratitude is one of those high-frequency emotions, and it’s something that we can consciously cultivate and practice. It’s easy to feel gratitude when everything is going the way we want it to. The challenge is to practice feeling gratitude when we can't remember what it feels like, when our egos just want to complain about the world around us. As this new moon in Sagittarius approaches, we are being asked to collectively activate this superpower. We call on gratitude to clear out stagnation from 2017 and lift us into the expansive possibilities of 2018, to assist us in transforming our pain into power, our missteps into wisdom. With the energy of the new moon, we plant our seeds of gratitude in our fertile Mother's soil, trusting them to grow in their own time into beautiful new life--for us and future generations. |
