The Healing Power Of Mantra AffirmationsBy Heidi Ronquillo
Mantras are powerful healing affirmations filled with energy.
Mantras are practiced in Japa meditation or said as prayers in yogic, Hindu, and Buddhist practices.
The meaning and various types of mantras are sacred and hold special powers.
They can become an integral part of our spiritual practice.

Definition of MantraA mantra is a revealed word, a divine sound that has been received or experienced by a rishi (seer) in the state of deep samadhi (spiritual absorption).
A condensed form of spiritual divine energy.
Esoteric literature in the yoga tradition describes a mantra as the essence of guru shakti, the power of the spiritual master. The mantra is itself the guru.
The mantra, God, guru, and one’s highest Self are one.
Mantra is a sacred formula, it is a subtle form of a deity, sound/vibration.

SanskritMantras are part of a sacred spiritual language called Sanskrit, which is a vibrational language.
The language can be felt throughout the body.
It promotes healing through our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.
The most transformational mantras are the Bija mantras.
Bija translated from Sanskrit is seed.
It is a seed that is planted and grows as one repeats it, and it is manifested in our lives.
It manifests in various ways depending on the intention held while repeating the mantra.
Mantras can be said as a single prayer with the strongest of intention or repeated 108 times using a mala (beaded necklace with 108 beads and a guru bead) in Japa meditation.
Mantras are powerful tools to be used for healing.
With the use of Mantras we can send to the universe the vibrational energy we want to attract, creating transformation and healing in our lives.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA
Yoga is a 5,000-year-old physical, mental and spiritual practice Having its origin in India, Which Aims to transform both body and mind. On December 11 in 2014, the United Nations General Assembly declared June 21st as the International Day of Yoga. The declaration came after the call for the adoption of June 21st as International Day of Yoga by Hon’ble Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014 wherein he stated: "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition . It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. " In Suggesting June 21, which is the Summer Solstice, as the International Day of Yoga, Mr. Narendra Modi had said that, "the date is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and has special significance in many parts of the world. "
Yogi and mystic, Sadhguru notes the importance of this day in the yogic tradition: “On the day of the summer solstice, Adiyogi [the first yogi] turned south and first set his eyes on the Saptarishis or Seven Sages, who were his first disciples to carry the science of yoga to many parts of the world. It is wonderful that June 21 marks this momentous event in the history of humanity.”

Summer Solstice
June 20, 2016

The summer solstice is also known as Midsummer. This sabbath is to celebrate the sun and the longest day of the year. This is a day to celebrate and surround yourself with symbols of the sun.  Lets celebrate and honor our dependence on the Sun but also honor the spiritual fire within each and every one of us. A great way to celebrate as the sun goes down is a great summer bonfire! Or invite friend over for a summer solstice and create sun mandalas or sun wheels which can be made with gorgeous flowers from the garden all while enjoying summer day!

Summer Solstice Affirmation to the Sun

The sun is high above us
shining down upon the land and sea,
making things grow and bloom.
Great and powerful sun,
we honor you this day
and thank you for your gifts.
Ra, Helios, Sol Invictus, Aten, Svarog,
you are known by many names.
You are the light over the crops,
the heat that warms the earth,
the hope that springs eternal,
the bringer of life.
We welcome you, and we honor you this day,
celebrating your light,
as we begin our journey once more
into the darkness.
